The 1967 Mustang convertible has always been one of my favorite cars. This beauty is now a classic. Back in the day when fully loaded meant; power steering, heat, air conditioning, FM stereo and a good looking girl in the passenger seat next you. The 2010 Mustang convertible offers some of the same classic features of the "67" such as the grille and round headlights but comes with a host of technological advances including a sound system that most people would want in their home, navigational systems, power locks, windows and seats. Heated seats. Low tire pressure warning gauge. This car has pretty much everything you could want in a car except that good looking girl in the passenger. You have to supply that on your own
The Mustang is definitely a sweet ride. It is amazing how far the car industry had to flex to encourage people to buy their products. A few other changes where: the standard transmission to the automatic transmission, carburetors to fuel injection, and distributors to electronic ignitions.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see that some classics never die. When a product is made with quality being the number one priority, it tends to last. In this case the 67 model is no longer produced but, the newest models of Mustang have a similar body style as oppossed to Mustang models of the late 90s and early 2000s. Chevy also borrowed this idea of bringing back the past. The 2008 model of the Camaro also has a body style similar to classic models.
ReplyDeleteThey don't make cars like they used to. The Mustang is a classic and I thin always will. Quilaty back then was what mattered. Today it's quanity over quality. I don't think I can name a single person who doesn't like the Mustang. It is a true beauty.
ReplyDeleteThis mustang is such a classic!! When we talk about technology and how it advanced....no can not think of all the advancments out there and NOT think of the vehicle. What the automobile is capable of today as well as what it is equiped with is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Chevy fan myself but this car is a classic indeed. This is when people bought a car for a car, not a fancy radio or heated seats, in fact most cars at this time didn't even have a/c. It's a shame to see what the car manufactures come up with today, they need to go back to the basics with cars like this one. This is true American muscle.
ReplyDeleteThe mustang has come a long way but the funny thing about this, is that people are going back to the old thing instead of the newly advanced car. Both models have their good things but they have their bad things that go along with it.
ReplyDeleteA Mustang is about the only thing from Ford i would ever buy. They definitly came out with nice rides, but horrible gas mileage. I would still take a 1967 Shelby Gt 500 anyday of the week though.
ReplyDeleteThe only problem with sop many technical advances is that the more technical it gets the more it breaks down. Take for instance a BMW some of the higher end cars spend more time in the shop than the streets.
The car industry has made numerous achievements throughout time. Transportation is one of those things that will never die.
ReplyDeleteThe Ford Mustang/Cobra is an American classic. The 2000's models got back to the traditional design unlike the 1990's designs. My dad owns a sweet Mustang convertible that is nice to drive in on summer days with the ragtop down so my hair can blow.
ReplyDeleteI love old cars. Sure, all the American Car industries are replicating old cars now, but nothing beats the actual thing. The loud exhaust, the rumble of the engine, the shaking of the car, the smell of gas fumes, frame-flexing power when stomping on the peddle... got to love them.
ReplyDeleteThe Mustang is the ideal American Muscle but we are quickly moving into a more efficient form of cars. The days of cars being a symbol of your success are over. Now those in the big cars are looked at as wasters and old people. This is old America.
ReplyDeleteThe Mustand is as big an American icon as John Wayne and Marylin Monroe. It signifies home grown American made quality. It's awesome to consider how long that vehicle line has been around and how it hasnt lost any anything in popularity throughout the years.
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about cars. But I do know that when the Mustang was introduced it was an instant success. The Mustang appealed to a wide variety of people. Sports car lovers liked the sporty look, young drivers like the manual transmission and the bucket seat options and for women they liked the interior and the convertible. This car had a wide range of options for just about everyone. This is one fast car.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how over the years they haven't really changed this car very much? To me, this car is almost like a trademark for Ford; when I think of Ford, I immediately think of the mustang. Almost everyone I know wants one even if they are slow!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a mustang. Now I have to wait because I have two young children who come first and I need to have the "family" car. No not a minivan...but I have to have the room. I hope they continue to make them for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how they are making everything from the past the same as present? Just like when bell bottoms were cool in the 70's then came back again in the early 2000's. It's the same as the car i guess.
ReplyDeleteThe mustang is an american staple & a pourd one at that.. they are all sweet except for the wierd 90s models. Its great to have a purly american car like this one
ReplyDeleteI love american muscle compared to the imports even though I drive an import. There is nothing like the roar of the engine. The mustang has definitely evolved into something appealing, fast, and state-of-the-art. Even though the saying Fix Or Repair Daily, I still love the mustang! Nice pictures too!
ReplyDeleteI am a true fan of the Mustang. I remember when my brother use to have one and I was always jealous of him. I appreciate how they are trying to bring back the old look to the new mustangs. Im interested to see what the next model will look like, or even if they'll come out with another model.
ReplyDeleteI love the old mustang- If I could afford one- I would! I like how they are trying to make the new models resemble the original style- but I think they could do a better job at it.
ReplyDeleteNow... as a Mustang owner (not a nice one, I must admit) I'm partial to the old classic Mustang. My mom's first was a '67, mine a '94. I would give anything to have an old '67 convertible and a nice looking guy in my passenger seat (because he can't drive stick). Many car companies are attempting to bring back the old bodies. Challengers are less rounded now than they have been recently, much like the old ones. It seems that, like fashion, the style of cars is going back in time. I like the change, but would like to see them resemble the classics a little more closely. Then I'd buy a new one. Until then, I'll stick with my lovely '94 pony!
