Video Killed The Radio Star, Who Then Got Killed By the Internet Sensation

And this was the byproduct......The music industry can now be infiltrated by 15 year old *cough* "prodigy's" who simply have a will and a way. Here's your latest example...Soulja Boy Tell'em (no, he's not going to inform you of anything provocative, it's simply his name.) Nice shades though. But you have to ask yourself...how much has really changed? Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin started Def Jam records out of a dorm room. Master P started his multimillion dollar empire out of the trunk of a car. It just goes to show, where there's a will, and a brain, there's also a way. The only thing that's changed with music is the hustle (that line may or may not be straight from a movie). Instead of dropping demos into the hands of a star, or hoping someone catches your act live, these bands realized they can market themselves like professionals for relatively cheap. Technology, such as cheaper better recording equipment and in recent history... the interwebs, has helped starving artists disguise the fact their starving. It's the old sales proverb, "Act As If" ...Act As If you own the place. Act as if your a platinum selling star. Act as if your mothers basement isn't your recording studio AND your bedroom. Eventually someone's going to believe you, then pump millions into your fresh new ideas, then drop you once it plays out..... Do you know the last time Master P made anyone say Uhhhhh? The answer to that question can be answered by Percy's own lyrics....NaNa NaNa

  2. This post is sweeping my interest ebcause i have noticed this so many times. My bestfriend goes to PCC, Phila community college, and was in 3 classes with this kid that goes by the name "ARSIN" and here is his website, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=95148879

By the graphics you would think he was worldly known but he is a struggling artist like everybody else. This technology on his page and how he can sell ringtones, and streaming music, and music videos, he has used every form of media technology i know of and it is really paying off for him.
