Dynamic Architecture - Building of the Future?

This building, scheduled to begin construction in 2010 actually twists to form different shapes and allow it's residents a variety of views - and it's green! In between each floor will be huge wind activated turbines that spin and move their respective floors. The turbines provide enough excess electricity to power all of the other energy requirements in the building. High rent tennants get to manually override the rotation to stick to preferred views. A mechanical marvel or nightmare? We'll see!

Do I really need to go into more detailed description of this?

It's an alarm clock with a little cage/pan/grate thing hooked up to a heating element that activates when the alarm is set which, in turn, cooks bacon which you will smell and then have THE BEST MORNING EVER.


Forget waking up to obnoxious-@$$ Opie & Anthony/Mike & Mike/Fat guy and even more annoying other fat guy on your stupid old clock radio.

I'm going to let my olfactory senses start my day.

Redneck Hands Free Cell Phone Technology

Well maybe the "high tech" part is a bit of a stretch here but hands free cell phone operation while driving is a long overdue requirement here in the states. No one is a fan of big brother but until people start doing the right thing on their own, guess who needs to enforce the rules. How many times have you seen a soccer mom driving a Hummer with a cell phone in one hand and a coke in the other? Hands free laws have been in place for close to ten years in many countries in Europe and Asia. Blue tooth technology has improved in the last five years to the point where poor sound quality is eliminated as a reason not to go hands free.
It's the way of the future, not new technology just a new way of thinking.

Dangers of Sports Technology

I couldn't help but wonder if the companies that create items like these bats or hockey sticks ever give thought to the players who have to stop the balls that are hit or the pucks that are shot. Hockey is different because equipment is worn by all players but baseball players are still taking the field with only a glove and a jockstrap for protection. As a former pitcher I know how fast the ball can get to you and I played in an era before the aluminum bats were allowed in baseball.
